"I'm Thankful For" Week - Day 5

I'm thankful for My Lovely Love.

Did I ever tell you about the time that Jon Butler and I went to Vegas and got married?

Back in 2004.
We were silly kids.
We went to Las Vegas spontaneously and went to the Flee Market.
We chose these awesome brass rings for each other.
{we also scored a sweet sea shell lamp.}
We went to dinner with Ryan and Britta and told them that we had just tied-the-knot.
They couldnt tell if we were serious or not.
We were good lil'fibbers.

I remember getting in the car after dinner and Ana called me and asked,
"Did you just marry Jon Butler in Vegas?!!"

It was fun.
We werent really even dating seriously then.
We were just really funny friends.
I actually cant remember when things got serious with Jonno.
We were friends for a long time.
Falling in Love was so simple after being friends for so long.
It was natural.
It was easy.
It was right.

I was always really freaked out about getting married.
I dated a lot and I always "peaced out" before things would get serious.
but with Jon Butler, we were dating without even realizing it. It just happened.
I was always so grateful that my Patriarchal Blessing told me I would know without doubt who my Eternal Companion would be.
I knew it was him.
His Fries were My Fries.

I love you Jon. Thank you for being such a super fun dad. Thank You for being so good to me. You've always treated me like a princess. I am so happy that we get to spend forever together. and thats enough mushy-gushy talk...Lets play nintendo.

That's funny and sweet. That kind of reminds me of Rob and I. We walked into Gen X while we were waiting for Papa John's pizza and there were rings at the counter and the one we picked up fit "perfectly". It was definitely a sign ;)

"they are totally joking . . . right? . . . maybe they really did it . . . they ARE pretty crazy . . . no, there's no way they got married . . . did they? you guys are good lil fibbers, and we love you all the more for it! Happy Thanksgiving!
